The Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities will host a talk with Jia Tolentino, a staff writer at The New Yorker and the author of the essay collection Trick Mirror. Tolentino will present “Against Optimization” Monday, March 27, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center, Ballroom A. Her talk will focus on thinking toward radical alternate visions of value, aspiration and potential.
Tolentino formerly was the deputy editor at Jezebel and a contributing editor at The Hairpin.
