Larry Bresler, executive director of Organize! Ohio, will conduct a workshop, “Advocacy 101” on Friday, Feb. 21, from 4:45 to 6 p.m. in Room 101 of the Thwing Center.
“Advocacy 101” is designed to give students the tools they need to take a stand on causes. Bresler will give an overview of what advocacy is and offer tips to become a more confident advocate. Student organizations will share their experiences using student advocacy tools to make change on causes they care about.
Dinner from the Jolly Scholar will be served and a $100 grant will be given to the student organization that brings the most members (members must attend the full event, and the winning organization must have a CWRU speedtype where the funds will be journaled). The event is co-sponsored by the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning (CCEL) Executive Council and Lambda Eta Mu.
