Advincula Research Group receives funding from Honeywell–Kansas City National Security Campus

The Advincula Research Group, led by Professor of Macromolecular Science and Engineering Rigoberto Advincula, received new funding totaling $180,000 from Honeywell–Kansas City National Security Campus. The funding is for 3-D printing of high-performance polymer materials in additive manufacturing.

The project involves the investigation of different polymer materials nanocomposites and resins that will give high performance and strong properties suitable for parts manufacturing.

The grant has been running for two years starting in 2017, with a total funding of close to $280,000 by the end of 2018. The funding is part of the consortium at Kansas City National Security Campus, which includes Virginia Tech; University of Tennessee, Knoxville; University of Texas, Dallas; Pittsburgh State University; and Case Western Reserve University.
