It’s On CWRU will host active bystander training, “Disrupting the Culture of Violence,” Wednesday, Sept. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. This violence prevention training is a skill-building opportunity from the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women’s It’s On CWRU campaign to end power-based personal violence (including, but not limited to, sexual assault, stalking, personal violence) on our campus and beyond.
During this training, participants will go over the 5Ds of bystander intervention and practice how to intervene in situations. The goal is to provide participants with the tools and strategies to step in, step up and help stop power-based personal violence in our community.
Content Warning: This training focuses on building skills to intervene in situations that disrupt the culture of safety on campus. Topics discussed in this training include harassment, stalking, sexual harassment and/or abuse, racism, sexism, and other impacts of violence against various social identities. Resources and support for anyone impacted by these topics will be reviewed, and individuals are encouraged to be aware of their needs and space when attending this training.
