A Slice of Cleveland: Vincenza’s Pizza & Pasta

Whether you like it extra cheesy, loaded with pineapples, gluten-free or stacked high with vegetables—the possibilities are endless when it comes to pizza. Pizza parlors and pie lovers from around the country are celebrating National Pizza Day today (Feb. 9)—and The Daily wants you to be prepared. Check out The Daily on Wednesdays throughout February as we give you the inside slice on some pizza shops around Cleveland.

What better way to celebrate National Pizza Day today than grabbing a pie (or just a slice) from Cleveland’s own Vincenza’s Pizza & Pasta? Located at the Colonial Marketplace in downtown Cleveland, Vincenza’s was founded by Italian immigrants in 1957 in Brooklyn, New York. In 1979, the family brought their New York-style pizza to The Land.

On the Menu

All of Vincenza’s daily preparation and cooking is done by the owners of the family-operated business to ensure top-notch pizza, subs, pasta and salads

Start off with antipasta, a tuna salad, a chef salad, or a grilled chicken salad—but make sure to save room for the award-winning pizza. Vincenza’s offers a number of different styles, including Napolitana (thin crust), Chicago (deep dish), Sicilian (square, thick crust), and even pizza stuffed with your meat or vegetable of choice.

You can order a pizza to share with family or friends—or stop by for just a slice. Try a slice of the margarita pizza (thin crust and topped with marinated tomatoes, garlic butter and mozzarella); a slice of the thin crust broccoli and cheese pizza; or a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza.

The Reviews Are In

If you’re someone who lets reviews dictate your decisions on where to grab a bite, we scanned the hundreds of reviews for Vincenza’s and did the work for you. The commentary suggested a few things:

  • They have delicious subs (Italian, club, meatball parmesan, chicken parmesan, tuna melt, veggie, and more).
  • Forget dinner—it’s a great spot for lunch! Make a special trip downtown for an easy, affordable lunch (their slices are under $4).
