Whether you like it extra cheesy, loaded with pineapples, gluten-free or stacked high with vegetables—the possibilities are endless when it comes to pizza. Pizza parlors and pie lovers from around the country are gearing up to celebrate National Pizza Day on Feb. 9—and The Daily wants you to be prepared. Check out The Daily on Wednesdays throughout February as we give you the inside slice on some pizza shops around Cleveland.
Our first stop is Dewey’s Pizza, which serves up ‘za around Ohio (and in Missouri). You’ll find it in Lakewood and just a short distance away from Case Western Reserve University on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights.
On the Menu
Dewey’s offers more than 10 speciality pizzas—from a Cuban pizza, which layers mustard sauce, mozzarella, swiss, Canadian bacon, pulled pork, pickled and mojo sauce; to a little something called Ryan’s Inferno, which melts together olive oil, mozzarella, buffalo chicken, Gorgonzola, red onion, and ranch dressing with celery on top.
You can also build your own pizza or calzone using tried and true toppings, or opt for some of their gourmet options such as capicola ham, feta cheese, goat cheese, Italian meatballs, prosciutto, caramelized red onions, roasted cherry tomatoes and more.
Looking for lighter fare? Dewey’s also offers greens. You can order traditional salads in addition to their candied walnut and grape salad and their peppercorn ranch salad.
If you need a final topping for your meal, Dewey’s also serves desserts from local confectioners. You need only ask for the latest selections!
