School of Dental Medicine Dean Kenneth B. Chance (DEN ’79) was elected the next vice president of the Supreme Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon earlier this year. Omicron Kappa Upsilon, founded in 1914, is the national dental honor society.
As a result of this election, Chance will be on the organization’s board of directors serving first as vice president, then president-elect and finally as president. He is the first African-American to serve as vice president.
A chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon was established at Case Western Reserve University in 1929 and is one of 69 dental school component chapters in the United States and Canada.
