On Monday, we asked you to identify a beloved campus building from the photo hint provided. Many respondents (59 percent) recognized it as Eldred Halls.
When it was first built in 1897, Eldred Hall contained a cafeteria, barbershop and auditorium. Throughout the years, it has housed the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and Student Army Training Corps.
And since 1898, performers on campus have found a home in Eldred with a variety of theater-oriented groups and departments, from the old Sock and Buskin Club, Curtain Players and Eldred Players to theater students of today.
