Darcy Freedman, associate professor of population and quantitative health sciences, has been named director of the Mary Ann Swetland Center for Environmental Health at Case Western Reserve University. She also has been recognized with the Mary Ann Swetland Endowed Chair in Environmental Health Sciences.
Under Freedman’s direction, the Swetland Center will lead community-engaged research focused on the complex interplay between environment and health. The team investigates environmental determinants of health inequities and translates findings into policies and practices that promote community and population health.
