Three researchers from Case Western Reserve University’s Dai Group published a paper with researchers from several other labs and universities on improved materials for energy storage.
Liming Dai, professor of macromolecular science and engineering and leader of the Dai Group, and senior research associates Rajib Paul and Feng Du co-authored the paper titled “3-D Heteroatom‐Doped Carbon Nanomaterials as Multifunctional Metal‐Free Catalysts for Integrated Energy Devices.”
It was published in Advanced Materials.
About the paper
The paper explored a new material for energy storage that is:
- Three-dimensional;
- Mesoporous;
- Metal-free; and
- Carbon-based.
These electrodes have multiple advantages, such as large surface area, maximized exposure to active sites, 3-D conductive pathways for efficient electron transport and porous channels to facilitate electrolyte diffusion. Read the article through Wiley Online Library.
