Members of the campus community can join the Office for Sustainability to talk all things recycling for America Recycles Day Thursday, Nov. 15.
The office will be in the Tinkham Veale University Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to give out recycling magnets, candy and recycling know-how.
The office also will hold a recycling drive for hard-to-recycle items.
Individuals can bring the following items for the office to deliver to the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District:
- Election yard signs;
- Holiday string lights;
- Small appliances under 10 lbs., such as coffee pots, hair dryers, small fans, radios and toasters (if it still works, donate instead of recycling);
- Empty beauty product containers, such as lip balm tubes, face soap dispensers, crimped lotion bottles, makeup cases, etc.; and
- Unwanted small e-waste, such as phones, tablets and other handheld electronics (be sure to clean off device content before handing it over).
The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District accepts these drop-off items year-round. They also accept block Styrofoam.
Members of the community also can get involved in America Recycles Day on social media with the hashtag #BeRecycled.
