Meghan Gibbons, assistant residential community director in the Office of Residence Life, recently was awarded the Robert F. Rodgers Graduate Student of the Year Award at the annual Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA) Careers Conference. This award is presented annually by the OCPA in recognition of the dedication and unlimited energies of a full-time Ohio graduate student working in student affairs, college/student personnel or a related field.
One of Gibbons’ nominators wrote: “They contribute to their staff, community and department in such significant ways that it is truly difficult to know where to begin. Whether through their contributions to resident assistant selection, helping their community council rise to Council of the Year last academic year, their dedication to community immersion or their unwavering focus on being present for their student staff—they have gone absolutely above and beyond on a consistent basis.”
Gibbons is a second-year graduate student in Kent State University’s Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel program.
