CWRU Division of Public Safety to hold emergency exercise Oct. 20 in Strosacker Auditorium

To ensure it is prepared in the event of an emergency, the Case Western Reserve University Division of Public Safety will hold an emergency exercise on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 7 a.m. to noon. The exercise, which also will include law enforcement from surrounding communities, will be held in Strosacker Auditorium; the area will be clearly marked with signage. Members of the Campus Community Emergency Response Team also will be on hand to answer any questions.

There will be increased police presence on campus during this time.

The university regularly tests its emergency response capabilities. This includes the Rave system, which sends emergency notification messages through email, text and social media.

Messages sent on this day should not be sent to the entire campus community, but any messages related to the exercise will state “TEST” at the beginning and end of the message. In the event of an actual emergency, messages will not include the word “TEST,” and individuals should follow the precautions or instructions given.

Any questions about the exercise should be directed to Megan Koeth, emergency manager, at megan.koeth@case.edu.
