Case Western Reserve University’s annual Constitution Day Program will be held Monday, Sept. 17, from 4 to 5:30 in the School of Law’s Moot Courtroom.
During the event, Raymond Ku, professor of law at CWRU, and William Snyder, teaching professor at Syracuse University’s College of Law, will discuss “Encryption: Privacy v. Public Safety.”
Ku and Snyder will examine the Fourth and Fifth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution in relation to the question of law enforcement and digital encryption.
They will address how the federal government can strike a balance between privacy and public safety and what, if any, restrictions should be placed on the government when accessing private data during the course of a criminal investigation.
