The Professional Development Center at the Department of Human Resources invites staff to take part in a focus group about staff mentoring and what that means to them Tuesday, May 8, at 8:30 a.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center Senior Classroom.
The focus group will provide an opportunity for staff to meet individuals from various departments on campus and give insight on their thoughts about a potential staff-mentoring program. In particular, the center would like to know:
- Expectations or goals for mentoring;
- Types of things participants wish to be exposed to; and
- Preference in selecting a mentor.
The center seeks individuals who have been at the university from one to 10 years, or those who have been at the university longer than 10 years, but are new to their role or career path. The primary target audience is staff members who consider themselves to be in the early to mid-career stage.
Participants’ views will be used to help inform the university’s next steps in exploring how a staff-mentoring program might be structured at CWRU.
A continental breakfast will be provided at 8 a.m., with discussion beginning at 8:30 a.m. It should last no longer than an hour and a half.
Spaces are limited and registration is required.
Those who would like to take part in the focus group can register online.
