Ondrej Maxian, an undergraduate student studying applied mathematics and chemical engineering, received a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Using this funding, he will pursue a PhD in applied mathematics at New York University after graduating from Case Western Reserve University this spring.
Maxian’s senior capstone project, titled “A Continuous energy based immersed boundary method with improved accuracy and applications,” was developed with Wanda Strychalski, assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics.
