The Office of Undergraduate Studies’ next pre-law community hour will feature Professor David Forte of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. Forte will speak on issues of national security in his talk, titled “Adversaries Near and Far: What is America’s future?”
The event, which is open to the entire campus community, will be held Friday, Feb. 2, from 12:45 to 2 p.m. in Nord Hall, Room 400. Lunch will be provided.

During the Reagan administration, Forte served as chief counsel to the United States delegation to the United Nations and alternate delegate to the Security Council. He has authored a number of briefs before the United States Supreme Court, and has frequently testified before the United States Congress and consulted with the Department of State on human rights and international affairs issues. His advice was specifically sought on the approval of the Genocide Convention, on worldwide religious persecution and Islamic extremism.
