University Health and Counseling Services, in collaboration with Student Affairs, will host an event to remember those the university community has lost to all types of death. Light the Campus: Night of Remembrance will be held Monday, Feb. 5, at 4:30 p.m. at Kelvin Smith Library Oval.
Speakers, including undergraduate deans, will read names submitted by undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff and community members, followed by a moment of silence for each person.
Themes of the night will include coping with grief, resilience and hope for the future. Resources for grief support and mental health will be made available, as well as food and refreshments following the event. All are welcome.
To have the names of friends, peers, family members and other loved ones read at the memorial, fill out the online form. The submission deadline is Friday, Feb. 2, at midnight.
