Richard F. Thomas—a Harvard University classics professor, teacher since 2004 of the first-year seminar “Bob Dylan,” and a celebrated “Dylanologist”—makes a compelling case for why the music and lyrics of Bob Dylan endure and inspire.
At a Baker-Nord Center for Humanities event, Thomas will discuss his new book, Why Bob Dylan Matters, with MacArthur Fellow and fellow “Dylanologist” Thomas Palaima and Professor Daniel Goldmark, director of Case Western Reserve University’s Center for Popular Music Studies.
The event, titled “Why Bob Dylan Matters,” will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, from 7 to 8 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center, ballroom C.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Library and Archives and the CWRU Center for Popular Music Studies will co-sponsor this event.
A book sale and signing will immediately follow the lecture.
