Case Western Reserve’s online survey of faculty and staff regarding health benefits closes at 5 p.m. today (Oct. 11).
The university is seeking employees’ preferences regarding ways to reduce the significant cost increases projected for health care coverage in 2018.
A combination of factors appears to be responsible for the growth, among them projected acceleration of health care costs nationally and climbing use of health care among those enrolled in the university’s plans.
The results of the survey will help inform decisions about health coverage for the next calendar year. The university also is exploring additional, longer-term options to control expenses, and will consult again with the campus community after gathering more information about them.
The first university town hall meeting regarding benefits will take place 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in Room 105 of the Biomedical Research Building. Watch The Daily for additional meeting announcements.
