Thirty musicians from Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music will perform 15 works by the late artist John Cage in “A Cage Musicircus.”
The performance, presented by the CWRU Percussion Ensemble and the CIM/CWRU Cage Players, will be held April 29 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Harkness Chapel. Under the direction of Paul Cox, they will present seminal Cage works in honor of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
The “Musicircus” is an informal performance event that Cage invented. Audiences are encouraged to wander around the chapel, observe the performers at work, and come and leave as they please. Children are welcome as well. Cookies will be served.
