Musicology lecturer Nita Karpf won the R. Serge Denisoff Award for the best article published in the journal Popular Music and Society. Karpf’s article, which appeared in December 2011, is titled, “Get the Pageant Habit: E. Azalia Hackley’s Festivals and Pageants during the First World War Years, 1914-18.”
