Plain Dealer story on pedestrian bridge proposals references CWRU aspirationsJune 20, 2011Media· The Plain Dealer: Case Western Reserve University agreed to make public for the first time images of a spectacular S-shaped pedestrian bridge designed as a link between the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Temple Tifereth Israel, which the university hopes to transform into a performing-arts center. The span would carry pedestrians and cyclists, as well as security guards on Segways and maintenance crews with service carts, and would traverse Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and touch ground at East 105th Street. The university has begun raising money for the project but is not ready to commit to construction, says Stephen Campbell, vice president for campus planning and facilities.
