Last week’s flood of future undergraduates and their families proved so much fun that the university is doing it again—albeit without the dancing RV.
Combine nearly 450 admitted students, almost 300 high school juniors and sophomores, and all of the parents and siblings who accompany the teens, and you end up with Case Western Reserve’s most well-attended open house in recent history. The university estimates that we hosted about 1,800 people on April 5 and 6. This total does not including Welcome to College’s signature star MARV (Mobile Automated Research Vehicle), which spent last Friday on the Kelvin Smith Library oval.
Even though the crowd won’t be quite so full this Thursday and Friday, admissions officials still expect the community to experience occasional lines for parking, meals and campus apparel at the new Barnes & Noble bookstore. In fact, this week could go down in history as the university’s second-largest prospective student turnout ever. Again, officials thank you in advance for your patience, and even more for the friendly smiles you share with young people considering making Case Western Reserve their first college choice.
