The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and the CWRU Film Society will co-sponsor the Cleveland premiere of Fred Kuwornu’s 2016 film documentary Blaxploitalian – 100 Years of Blackness in Italian Cinema.
Black actors have appeared in Italian cinema since 1915, yet it’s a population of entertainers that have been seldom heard from as a group, according to the new documentary, BlaxploItalian—100 Years of Blackness in Italian Cinema.
The free screening, which is open to the public, will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. in Strosacker Auditorium. Kuwornu will be on hand to lead a Q&A and discussion following the screening.
