Participate in Sustained Dialogue as part of wellness initiative; apply for program by Nov. 30

Applications are being accepted for 2017 spring faculty and staff Sustained Dialogue (SD) groups. Now in its third year, SD brings together individuals from various backgrounds to discuss campus, local and national issues of concern, including diversity and inclusion matters.

Beginning in spring 2017, the Sustained Dialogue program will be part of the university’s Wellness Program Incentive–Community Wellbeing category. Individuals who complete wellness activities by Nov. 30 and participate in Sustained Dialogue in the spring will be eligible for $100 at the end of 2017.

To be eligible for the $100 incentive, individuals must complete by Nov. 30 a biometric screening, Tobacco Attestation Form (online) and a Health Risk Appraisal (online). Walk-in screening appointments are available in the School of Nursing’s Faculty Staff Lounge today (Nov. 23) from 7 a.m. to noon and Nov. 28-30 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Individuals are requested to fast for 9-12 hours prior to the biometric screening. Learn more about the requirements at case.edu/wellness/the-wellness-program/wellness-premium-incentive/.

All staff and faculty are strongly encouraged to participate in Sustained Dialogue. The program has been highly rated and described as enlightening, valuable and enjoyable by former participants. No experience or special skills are needed. Groups will meet for approximately one hour each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the lunch hour, over a 12-week period.

Benefits of being a part of a SD dialogue group include:

  • Opportunity to meet individuals from across the campus and develop new friendships;
  • Enhance your communication and listening skills;
  • Learn how to effectively engage in critical conversations;
  • Gain tools for engaging with individuals from various backgrounds; and
  • Impact the campus community by working to make positive change at CWRU.

To participate in a faculty/staff dialogue group, complete an application and submit it by Nov. 30. Download the application.
