Jackson T. Wright Jr. was selected for the 2016 Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine Medal for Excellence in Health Science Innovation, the School of Medicine’s highest honor, for his efforts in advancing cardiovascular health.
As a leader in clinical care and education, Wright, professor of medicine, has combined his vision, passion and integrity as a catalyst for collaboration and innovation. His groundbreaking, decades-long clinical research has helped physicians create and fine-tune approaches to address hypertension among the general population and has led to a deeper understanding of the disease among African-Americans.
For this body of work, Wright received the American Heart Association’s 2015 Clinical Research Prize for outstanding achievement in clinical cardiovascular science.
