Continuing its Breast Cancer Awareness Month programming, the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women will host Law and Bioethics Professor Sharona Hoffman for her talk, “Cancer and the Americans with Disabilities Act.” The talk will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the women’s center (Tinkham Veale University Center Suite 248).
Learn how breast cancer affects each person differently—directly from four breast cancer survivors:
- Bernadette, who survived breast cancer twice;
- Lea, a young mom diagnosed five months after giving birth to her son;
- Ravelle, diagnosed at 74; and
- Jerry, a male surviving with metastatic breast cancer.
Hoffman, also the Edgar A. Hahn Professor of Law and co-director of the Law-Medicine Center, will be joined by Kristina Austin from The Gathering Place, a local cancer support center that provides free programs and services to help individuals and families cope with the emotional, social, physical and spiritual impact of cancer.
