On Sept. 29 and 30, Kelvin Smith Library will air four films comprising the PBS series Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle. Two films will air simultaneously each day at 12:30 p.m. in the library in rooms LL06, A, B, C and the Dampeer Room.
All members of the campus community are invited to the viewings and discussions. Light lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided.
The purpose of the viewing is to encourage conversation about the changing meanings of freedom and equality in America. The programs have been made possible by a major grant from the National Endowment of Humanities as part of the Bridging Cultures initiatives and in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
