The Case Western Reserve University Baroque Orchestra Concert will perform “Angelic Cascades and Devilish Flourishes” Monday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Harkness Chapel.
The orchestra, directed by senior instructor of music Julie Andrijeski, will perform pieces by Jean-Marie LeClair and Pietro Locatelli.
Legend has it that when Jean-Marie LeClair and Pietro Locatelli played on the same concert in Kassel in 1728, LeClair played like an angel while Locatelli played like a devil. The orchestra drew from this legend in assembling music for the concert.
The concert is free and open to the public.
