Franklin D. Roosevelt campaigned at Western Reserve in 1920

In 1920, Franklin D. Roosevelt came to Western Reserve University to speak to the School of Law. At the time, he was running for democratic vice president alongside James Cox. While Warren G. Harding won the presidency that year, Roosevelt went on to become president in 1933.

In his talk at WRU, Roosevelt addressed the topic of the League of Nations.

More than half of this week’s Connect trivia respondents answered the question correctly. Other guesses were Herbert Hoover, Harding and Calvin Coolidge.
