Mahdi Orooji, postdoctoral researcher in the Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics (CCIPD) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, won this year’s Linda Arena Endowed Scholarship Award.
Orooji was selected for his project, which was titled “Computer Extracted Texture Features on CT Predict Level of Invasion in Ground Glass Non-Small Cell Lung Nodules.”
Anant Madabhushi, professor of biomedical engineering and director of CCIPD, mentors Orooji.
Each year, the Linda Arena Endowed Scholarship Award provides funding to a nurse or physician to obtain advanced training in lung cancer prevention and treatment.
