Rachel McNellis, a PhD student in the Department of Music, received a Medieval Academy of America/CARA Summer Scholarship to study Medieval Latin at The MARCO Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at the University of Tennessee.
This is the first year that the Academy of American has offered support for summer programs in languages.
McNellis will use the Latin skills she obtains in Knoxville on her dissertation on 15th-Century Cambrai.
