Teaching a course for the first time can be stressful, as faculty members are not sure about the scope and sequencing of the content and the most appropriate teaching strategies. The second time is less stressful because they know what to expect and can iron out the kinks. The third time tends to involve making finer adjustments. And the fourth time is usually the best.
But after that, things can seem a little stale and repetitive, and the joys of teaching can seem to appear less often. What can be done to prevent that from happening so faculty members go to each class with a spring in their steps?
Find out possible strategies at the next University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education (UCITE) session Thursday, June 11, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Herrick Room of the Allen Building.
Lunch will be provided at this session. RSVP to ucite@case.edu.
