Learning management systems, such as Blackboard, are now ubiquitous on college campuses. But like all other aspects of technology in the Internet age, they change rapidly and need to be constantly evaluated for appropriateness.
In the months ahead, Information Technology Services will lead a multifaceted effort to evaluate the learning management systems that students, faculty and staff members use each day for coursework and communication—such as Blackboard Learn, Moodle and eCurriculum—to see if any changes are necessary.
At the next University Center for Innovation in Technology and Education (UCITE) session, Tina Oestreich, Mike Kenney, Brian Yuhnke, and Katie Skapin of Information Technology Services will lead an open discussion about the learning management systems being used on campus. They also will provide details about the yearlong initiative and provide information on how faculty members can get involved.
At the session, faculty members will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on how they use it, what features they like, and what changes they suggest.
The session will be held Thursday, June 4, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Herrick Room of the Allen Memorial Medical Library.
Lunch will be provided at this session. RSVP by emailing ucite@case.edu.
