Case Western Reserve University students who receive need-based financial aid from the university—including grants, federal work-study, or any university or federal loans—must apply for financial aid each year by completing the FAFSA, CWRU Financial Aid Application and any additional forms that may be required. Forms must be completed and submitted by Friday, May 15.
FASFA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the primary financial aid form for CWRU and most other universities across the country.
U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents must complete and submit the FAFSA each year they wish to apply for financial aid. Dependent students must complete the form with their parents. It is usually easiest to complete the FAFSA after filing tax returns for the previous calendar year so that the IRS Data Retrieval Tool can be used to populate the FAFSA with actual tax return figures. Returning students should complete the FAFSA no later than Friday, May 15, using their 2014 tax information.
The FAFSA school code for all CWRU undergraduates is 003137.
CWRU Financial Aid Application
The CWRU Financial Aid Application is required for all enrolled students receiving need-based financial aid. It is available online through the My Financial Aid portal. In order to complete the form, students should log in using their CWRU Network ID. It is usually easiest to complete the form after completing the FAFSA. The application must be completed by Friday, May 15, to be considered for need-based financial aid.
Additional Forms
Each student has different financial circumstances, and additional forms may be required. The Office of University Financial Aid will contact students to let them know of any additional documents required to complete their application for aid, and they can always log in to My Financial Aid to check on the latest list of required documents.
Contact the Office of University Financial Aid at 216.368.4530, financialaid@case.edu or stop by Yost Hall, Room 435 and make an appointment, with questions about aid eligibility or applications for financial aid.
