The Office of Multicultural Affairs will host a “Diversity Speaks” speaker series to share the stories of people from varying backgrounds. The series will begin Friday, March 27, and conclude on Friday, May 1. Each session is from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Sears Building, Room 450.
On Friday, March 27, LaToyia Jones, founder of Alive on Purpose and a licensed grief counselor, will present “Alive on Purpose: Living when you want to die.”
On Friday, April 3, Kate Kloss, software developer in the Division of Student Affairs, will present “The ‘T’ in LGBT: Transitioning between genders and becoming a woman in a male-dominated industry.”
On Friday, April 24, Cassi Pittman, assistant professor of sociology, will present “To Braid or Not to Braid: Cultural Constraint at Work.”
To conclude the speaker series, on Friday, May 1, Khalid “Cal” Al-Dhubaib, chief executive office and chief technology officer of Triple Analytics and a senior in computational neuroscience, will present “From Student to Entrepreneur: Launching a budding venture as an international student with no background in business.”
