On Monday, Nov. 17, there will be a screening of the film Born in Goma, followed by a discussion with the physician and filmmaker, Chris Carpenter. Carpenter traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo to work at the HEAL African Hospital. During his journey, he met three special patients, each trying to survive in the midst of extreme poverty and violence.
The screening will begin at 5:30 p.m., and will be held in the School of Medicine’s Sears Tower, E301 Lecture Hall.
Carpenter, a pediatrician and instructor at Boston Children’s Hospital and University of California, San Francisco, has worked with children in developing countries around the world and co-founded a clinic in Haiti for children with chronic diseases.
