As the diversity on the Case Western Reserve University campus grows, faculty members play an important role in creating the most inclusive atmosphere possible.
At the next University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education (UCITE) session, Liz Roccoforte, program coordinator of the LGBT Center, will provide current information about LGBTQ issues, and Naomi Sigg, director of multicultural affairs, will help explain how her office can help members of the campus community. Both will discuss how to best respond to issues that may arise in the classroom related to gender, race and sexuality. This session will give participants strategies for creating a learning climate that is supportive and inclusive of all students.
The discussion will take place Thursday, Oct. 23, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen Memorial Medical Library building.
Pizza and sodas will be provided at this session. To help estimate the amount to order, please RSVP to ucite@case.edu.
