The ninth annual MLK Day Service & Symposium: A Call to Action will take place Monday, Jan. 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hillel Auditorium (next to Thwing Center). Through this event, students will:
- Volunteer at on- or off-campus projects with local nonprofit organizations.
- Learn about the civil rights movement and King’s legacy in Cleveland from a local community activist.
- Identify present-day issues and explore ways to take action to create positive change on CWRU’s campus.
The symposium is a call to action that will give students the opportunity to celebrate the holiday through service, reflection and dialogue for positive change. It will include a morning of service followed by afternoon discussions that will empower students to create positive change on the Case Western Reserve University campus and beyond.
Registration is required by Thursday, Jan. 16.
