The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and the Poetics Working Group are sponsoring two presentations by poet and scholar Monica de la Torre this week.
De la Torre will give a lecture on Latin American poetry in the United States on Thursday, Oct. 24, and a bilingual poetry reading on Friday, Oct. 25.
Both events will take place in Kelvin Smith Library first floor, by the Art Gallery and Cramelot Café at 4:30 p.m.
De la Torre’s presentation will address the connections of Latin American poetry with today’s American poetry scene.
