This week’s Public Affairs Discussion Group meeting will focus on the working class and how—and if—it might recover from the Great Recession. Tim Black, associate professor of sociology, and Joseph White, chair of the Department of Political Science and the Luxenberg Family Professor of Public Policy, will offer observations and basis for discussion.
The discussion, titled “Will the Working Class Ever Recover? The Great Recession and Beyond,” will be held Friday, Sept. 13, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Kelvin Smith Library’s Dampeer Room.
Since 1989, faculty, emeriti, students and staff have gathered on Fridays for a brown-bag lunch and to discuss topics in public affairs.
