As a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) since 1994, Kathleen A. Harper, a lifetime member, will receive the Winter 2025 AAPT Fellowship in January. The fellowship recognizes AAPT members who have shown “exceptional contribution to AAPT’s mission to enhance the understanding and appreciation of physics through teaching.“
Founded in 1930, AAPT is an international organization for physics educators, physicists and industrial scientists with members worldwide and is dedicated to enhancing the understanding and appreciation of physics through teaching. AAPT provides awards, publications and programs that encourage teaching practical application of physics principles, support continuing professional development, and reward excellence in physics education.
Over the years, Harper has served on multiple committees and task forces at the national level and in 2015, the organization recognized her commitment with the Homer L. Dodge Citation for Outstanding Service to AAPT in 2015.
