On November 2nd, the Case Fencing Club will be hosting the newly named Kadar Duels in honor of Menyhert Kadar who led the former varsity fencing team and its members to victories at the national and international levels.
Over 28 seasons, coach Kadar led the Western Reserve Wildcats and, later, the unified Spartans teams to great victories and brought the NCAA Championships to the University’s own Adelbert Gym, which is to be renovated in Spring 2025. He continued to be involved with the Northeast Ohio fencing community throughout his life and was inducted into the Spartan Club Hall of Fame in 2023. Kadar and many other great Case fencers will continue to be remembered and appreciated for their work to promote the sport.
