A look back at Parent and Family Weekend 2024

Case Western Reserve’s first standalone Parent and Family Weekend marked three days of excitement, connection and community spirit as students’ loved ones came to campus Sept. 27–29.

From Friday to Sunday, family members had the chance to reconnect with their students, experience campus life and engage with our vibrant community through a wide range of events. These included a welcome event in Tinkham Veale University Center, a Friends & Family Night in Thwing Center, and film screenings hosted by the CWRU Film Society.

The University Program Board co-hosted a “Ballpark Bonanza” as well, welcoming families and students to Progressive Field to watch a Guardians game alongside CWRU’s mascot, Spartie. Plus, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday, during which guests toured new state-of-the-art laboratory classrooms and collaborative spaces in the Dental Research Building.

For those who weren’t able to attend, the deans of Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, the College of Arts and Sciences, Case School of Engineering and Weatherhead School of Management recorded video updates on what’s happening in the schools across the university.

This year marked the first that Parent and Family Weekend was separate from Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, which will be celebrated this year Nov. 14–17.
