“Empowerment through Course Accessibility”

Case Western Reserve University faculty and staff members are invited to join the Teaching and Learning Technologies team for a free event on digital accessibility Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship at Kelvin Smith Library.

Titled “Empowerment through Course Accessibility,” this event will feature talks on accessible course design and how to use artificial intelligence for course content accessibility, with breaks for networking and refreshments. 

The event schedule will be as follows:

  • 9 to 9:10 a.m.: Welcome remarks by Megan Allen, assistant director of online learning
  • 9:10 to 10 a.m.: “Accessible Course Design” by Heather Bolden, lead instructional designer
  • 10 to 10:15 a.m.: “Digital Accessibility Champion Badging Ceremony” by La Tasha Simms, digital accessibility lead
  • 10:15 to 10:30 a.m.: Coffee break provided by Bon Appétit Management Co.
  • 10:30 to 11:20 a.m.: “AI Course Content Accessibility” by Indra Wangsawiredja, instructional designer
  • 11:20 to 11:30 a.m.: “KSL Tools and Resources” facilitated by Josie Cotton
    11:30 to noon: Closing remarks by Simms and networking
