People can move this bionic leg just by thinking about it
MIT Technology Review: Hamid Charkhkar, research assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, commented on a research study into a new neural interface that links a prosthetic limb to thigh nerve endings and enables the limb to be controlled by the brain. “It’s a very forward-thinking approach. Our limbs are not like shoes. They’re not worn over our bodies. They are integrally attached to our bodies via bones, muscles, and nerves,” said Charkhkar, who was not involved in the study.
