Mandel School’s Dexter Voisin examines statistics of youth firearm arrests in Toronto

The kids are not alright, and we really need to do something about it

Alex Pierson Show, Canadian Public RadioDexter Voisin, dean of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, delved into the statistics that show youth firearm arrests in Toronto skyrocketed 161% in just a two-year span. “When we talk about root causes (of gun violence), we have to think about this in a very sophisticated but active way,” he said. “These are young people who are vulnerable… It’s important to think about early detection.”
