There is an opening for a Veterans Posse Faculty Mentor in Fall 2024 and openings for direct High School Posses for fall 2025.
Posse identifies public high school students and veterans with extraordinary academic and leadership potential who may be overlooked by the traditional college selection processes. Posse allows these students to pursue personal and academic excellence by placing them in supportive, multicultural teams—Posses—of 10 students. Posse partner colleges and universities award Posse Scholars four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships.
Posse faculty mentors are responsible for helping the Posse cohort successfully transition to campus and their college careers. Mentors do this by meeting with the Posse members individually and as a group during their first two years on campus. It is a two-year position with three mandatory training seminars prior to the scholars’ first semester of their first year. The position requires approximately 15 hours per week. This is a paid position.
Those interested in the position are invited to complete a form to learn more about the program and how they can make a difference in the lives of this select group of students.
