Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to join the Department of Art History and Art for the opening of its “War Games: Tactical Media” exhibition, which surveys the longstanding and tangled relationship between video games and the U.S. military.
The exhibition opening will be held Friday, Feb. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Sears think[box] gallery.
Attendees will have the chance to explore this history through an extensive media archive and play military-themed video games, including the latest entry in the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise, and Discharged, an artist-made game that critiques the U.S. military’s use of video games to recruit teens.
CWRU Art Studio Faculty Kerry Richardson and Steve Ciampaglia curated this exhibition. This exhibition is intended for mature audiences; viewer discretion is advised.
